AIMS Professional Code of Conduct
As an AIMS Certified Professional:
I accept responsibility as a manager for my actions and the actions under which I am chartered to direct.
I will always act with integrity, never misuse my office for personal gain against the needs of the endeavor, and will provide opportunity for others within my scope of management based upon the needs of the endeavor and the individual.
I will have respect for society, the environment, and will avoid discretionary practices that are counter to the UN Declaration of Human Rights.
I accept responsibility for information that I am given access to and I will respect its confidentiality as it relates to the endeavor and my sponsors.
When called upon to give a professional opinion I will do so as objectively as possible, and will not exaggerate or withhold pertinent information or context concerning the opinion.
As a Manager within an Organization:
I will strive to effectively and economically manage the usage of resources.
I accept responsibility for the organizations mission and agree to ensure all activities and allocation of resources is used toward that mission.
I will balance the needs of the individual with the needs of the organization, striving to integrate those needs as they relate to employee development, training, and emerging organizational opportunities.
I accept responsibility for the safety and culture of the working environment.
I accept responsibility for the effectiveness, content, and frequency of all communications.
I accept responsibility for my work products and the work products of my subordinates.
As a Manager working on tasks that affect the Community and the Environment:
I will make every endeavor to conserve the environment, balancing the rights of future generations with current economic needs.
I will endeavor to always preserve, and whenever possible, improve the quality of life within the organizations sphere of influence.
I will ensure that all contracts and terms of business are clear, concise and honored in full, unless terminated or modified by mutual consent.
I accept responsibility for the actions of my organization within the community and will not partake in corrupt practices.
I will always respect the culture, moral standings, and dignity of the individual, even when that is not my own.
